1955 Hamilton Clark

Serviced September 2024, good silver dial, polished 10k gold filled case, unworn genuine leather strap, NOS acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring.

Hamilton produced the Clark starting in 1955 and it ran through 1957. The serial number on the caliber 753 movement indicates it was completed in 1954, meaning this example was likely one of the first to roll off the line in 1955. A small watch, its most distinctive feature is the large, sharply pointed lugs. There is plate wear evident on the tips and edges of the prominent lugs. The silver dial appears to have been professionally refinished decades ago and has gold applied numerals and markers with a painted sub seconds register. The dial is in good condition with patina, most notably on the right hand side. The paint for the Hamilton branding is excellent. The hands appear to be original and show very little patina. A NOS curved acrylic crystal was installed during service. The watch is ready to wear on an unworn brown genuine leather two piece strap with contrasting stitching and gold tone hardware. The American made 753 movement was serviced September 2024 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 13 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled bezel and case back. There is some fine scratching on the bezel and case back.

Lugs - Plate wear on the tips and edges of the lugs.

Crystal - NOS curved acrylic crystal installed during service.

Hands - Appear to be original with very light patina. 

Dial - Refinished, good condition dial. Silver finish, applied even numerals and hour markers, painted sub second register at 6 o'clock. Paint on the dial is in mint condition. Patina across the dial, most notably on the right side.

Band - Unworn brown genuine leather strap with gold tone buckle and contrasting stitching.

Movement - American made Hamilton caliber 753, manual wind, 19 jewels. Fully serviced September 2024. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
