1958 Hamilton Automatic K-409

1958 Hamilton Automatic K-409

Serviced October 2024, Swiss made automatic movement, very good original two piece black dial with applied markers and painted field, 10k gold filled case and screw down case back, genuine leather strap, domed acrylic crystal, signed crown, alloy mainspring.

Made for just two years in 1958 and 1959, the Automatic K-409 is one of Hamilton's earliest automatic watches and comes with a Swiss made (Certina) Hamilton caliber 661 automatic movement. The watch has the original two piece black dial with applied markers and a gilt painted field. The dial is in good condition and exhibits honest patina, as do the original hands. The crystal domed acrylic. The 10k gold filled case and screw down case back have been hand polished. The signed original crown tucks under the bezel, giving the watch a sleek look, but making it less convenient to hand wind. The watch is ready to wear on an unworn genuine leather black two piece strap. The 661 caliber automatic was serviced October 2024 and is running strong and currently performing at +/- 11 seconds per day.
