Made in 1973 and 1974, the Hamilton Auto Date Dorchester comes with a Swiss made, A. Schild based, Hamilton caliber 631 automatic movement. Along with the incredible 70's styling, a standout feature of this watch is the beat rate of 36,000 per hour. With a beat rate almost double that of most other vintage movements, the white second hand sweeps very smoothly across the dial. The watch features a near mint condition black dial with silvered applied hour markers and orange and white painted minute track. The dial and original hands were relumed during service. The day and date window is at 6 o'clock. The date quick set by pressing the crown in. The NOS domed acrylic crystal was installed during service December 2024. The stainless steel case and bezel have been hand polished and shows some scratching. The stainless steel case shows some fine scratching consistent with age but also still has the factory brushing. The watch comes ready to wear the original Hamilton stainless steel bracelet with signed clasp. The 631 caliber automatic day/date movement was serviced December 2024 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 10 seconds per day.

Case - Hand polished stainless steel case with some scratching. Stainless steel screw down case back has some scratching and still shows the factory brushing.
Lugs - Integrated lugs in excellent condition.
Crystal - NOS low domed acrylic crystal installed during December 2024 service.
Hands - Appear to be original. Little to no patina visible. Relumed during service.
Dial - Original, near mint condition dial. Black field, applied hour markers, painted minute markers and track. Paint on the dial is in mint condition. Dial relumed during service.
Bracelet - Original stainless steel Hamilton bracelet with signed clasp. Micro-adjust holes in clasp.
Movement - Swiss (A.S.) made Hamilton caliber 631, day/date, quick set date, automatic, 17 jewels. Fully serviced December 2024. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
