1973 Hamilton Fairlane
1973 Hamilton Fairlane
Serviced February 2019, 10k solid gold case, factory engraved case back for Ford Motor Company, Swiss made manual wind movement, excellent radially brushed silver dial with gold applied hour markers and painted minute track. NOS acrylic crystal, alloy mainspring, signed Hamilton crown. Comes on unworn genuine leather strap.
Made between 1964 and 1970, the Hamilton Fairlane was just recently identified by the Hamilton collecting community. The Fairlane was made exclusively for Ford Motor Company as a presentation watch to employees that completed 35 years of service; this watch was not available to the general public and cannot be found in any catalog. The back of every Fairlane was factory engraved with the same inscription, the only difference being the employees name, the year they started working for Ford, and the year the watch was presented. Interestingly, Henry Ford II's signature is also engraved on the watch, who was the CEO of Ford from 1960 to 1979 and was Henry Ford's grandson. The case back of this particular Fairlane was presented to Wallace R. Sage in 1970. The case is solid 10k yellow gold and is in excellent condition. The radially finished silver dial on this watch is in excellent condition with no patina evident. The paint for the Hamilton script logo and the minute markers are mint. The gold applied markers are also mint. The watch is ready to wear on a genuine leather, black two piece strap with gold tone buckle and contrasting stitching. The Swiss made 688 manual wind movement was serviced February 2019 and is running well and currently performing at +/- 12 seconds per day.
